It was another busy week for BS in pundit land as the West’s Korea experts scrambled to make sense (or nonsense) out of Donald Trump’s latest episode in diplomacy via abusive correspondence: the Trump letter canceling the June 12 Singapore summit with Kim Jong Un.
Experts, pundits, and media types scrambled to explain the titanic dimensions of this supermega Trump fail as NeverTrumpers exulted in the evaporation of the Donald’s Nobel Peace Prize fantasies.
But then the bombshell…unbombed!
North Korea didn’t take umbrage, South Korean president Moon Jae In jetted off for a quick summit with Kim Jong Un to keep things on track, and arrangements for the summit are still chugging along.
So the Korea experts who misguided American policy to the point that North Korea is a viable nuclear power and South Korea is moving away from ally status and pursuing an independent foreign policy aren’t even coming close to getting the day to day developments in Korean affairs right.
And we’ve still got the China hawks, who are pushing for a generational struggle with the People’s Republic of China with help from U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen.
Prepare for a trillion dollar, decade-long confrontation with the People’s Republic of China brought to you courtesy of the Pentagon…which knows how to spend a trillion dollars.
My Asia Brief audio report on the history Americans don’t know… but drives current events on the Korean peninsula. Resentment at the sacrifice of Korea to U.S. Cold War ambitions and the Japanese alliance runs deep…and Koreans in the North and South are finally able to do something about it.
General MacArthur’s Conspiracy to Start a War with China! New Documentary Release & Interview! For purchase at Newsbud Store or for Purchase or View via Amazon or Vimeo
The Korean War was a desperate and dubious battle in which the US was ready to try anything and everything to overcome its strategic and tactical disadvantages. Biological weapons, nuclear weapons…and Douglas MacArthur’s plans for a strategic breakout via escalation of the Korean conflict to a regional war. Everything was on the table.
Douglas MacArthur made the first US attempt to parlay a Korean crisis into an existential confrontation with the People’s Republic of China. With the US milsec establishment, his ideas are more popular—and dangerous—than ever. My documentary uses first hand testimony and declassified archives to finally reveal the truth behind this long-suppressed event.
