4th and 5.7bn for Trump

US President, Donald Trump, has said on Twitter that, if there is no climbdown by Democrats over the funding for the Mexican border barrier, he is prepared to cancel this year's Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LIII (53) is scheduled to take place on Sunday 3 February in Atlantis, and is the culmination of a year's effort and determination from the players, coaches, staff, and, of course, fans of the two teams who have made it this far.

None of this matters to Trump.

The president is showing some steadfast effort and determination, himself, and there's no knowing just how much he has 'left in his tank'. The government shutdown is now starting to bite, and the 800,000 federal workers who are the principal ones suffering from the month-old stoppage have well-and-truly learnt their lesson:

Do not vote for Trump in 2020.

President Trump met with the Democrats' Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer last week to ask for the $ 5.7bn needed to build the southern border defences, but was intercepted at the 1-yard line. He was unable to make any ground, and is now facing a mammoth 4th down and 5.7bn.

If Trump does cancel the Super Bowl, it will be the first time the game has been cancelled due to a megalomaniac throwing its dummy out of its pram.
